Another heart smashing, soul stealing, adoration inducing book from Tal Bauer. And Bryce and Hunter might be my favorite characters among a sea of many. Well not Nick, he’ll always have a special place in my heart.
Tal Bauer is my favorite sports romance author by miles. Not only is he a brilliant romance writer but the way he describes the sport, the camaraderie and the way these characters love the game. It makes the sport, whether it be football or hockey, another MC.
I teared up several times for obvious reasons for the boys, but I also became emotional due to their connection to their sport. Tal makes it wondrous and simply breathtaking.
I know very little about hockey, other than it’s brutality. And the writer spared no violent details, I cringed several times. It gives a lot of meaning to any other sport and these character’s sportsmanship. Truly awe inspiring.
The development from strangers to instant best friends, the way Bryce struggled with his feelings and the way Hunter’s confusion blocked all intelligence strangled my heartstrings. They struggled sure but the angst wasn’t forever and when they inevitably came together my god. I love the way these men love each other.
This was far too short, but honestly it could’ve gone on forever and I still wouldn’t have had enough.

oh that’s interesting but i’m glad for it! the jock was also the first book i read from this but it made me fall for his writing immediately. i was still new to the insta love and cheesiness but i came to realize that’s how he writes that i started looking forward to it. i hope i won’t disappoint with my rating/review when i finish it! 😂
