🔖 2024 Re-read Review:
“Wait for me. I need you to wait for me.� This line shattered me all over again. Watching Lily and Lo meet Connor and Ryke for the first time and seeing the start of their friendship felt truly monumental. The way they slowly opened up and broke down their walls was nothing short of beautiful. And how they took care of each other from the beginning hits me to my core. This felt a hundred times heavier after seeing how far they’ve come. This re-read is incredibly special.

Three years later and drowning in lies, we’re suddenly prepared to lose everything for the chance at something real.
That ending broke me. Yes, Lily & Lo started out as dysfunctional, messy and ultimately bad for each other which frustrates me at times, but I also saw two people wanting and fighting desperately to be better, not just for each other but for themselves, because of love. And I think that’s beautiful.
Despite the enabling, Lily and Lo grew on me, and now they’ve won my heart. They are both such complex, broken and flawed characters who deserve better. Also, don’t we all crave a Ryke, Connor, and Rose in our lives? Someone who shows up for you especially in your darkest. It’s beautiful to see the dynamic of a found family starting to emerge within their group. I’m only on the first book, and yet I can already see the depth in each of these characters.
Please, please, please approach this book with an open mind, recognizing how addiction can truly bring out the worst in people, which I think was vividly portrayed within the pages of this book. And yes, I will definitely be continuing the series.

ah i’m so happy to see recognition for this book! this book was so painful and it shows lo and lily in their lowest, but i guarantee you you’re going to love them moving forward ❤️�the found family in this series is something else, it’s really the story of “people help people� 🥹

Yesss, I’m so excited to continue the series as well. I need more of Lily and Lo. And I can’t wait to see how their friendship progresses into something deeper. Im excited to see more of Ryke too. 💗

I had to dnf this cus I couldn’t handle the toxicity, but lately I’ve been thinking I should give it another chance. Hearing your experience makes me think maybe they could eventually grow on me as well�

They’re both trying to help each other heal.. and that’s LOVE. LiLo will definitely grow on you. But I know that it’s not for everyone. 🥲❤️�

This is a series that I could re-read. You need to read the entire series. It truly captures the toxicity of codependency and addiction.

We should always try to see the best in people beyond what’s right in front of us. Even at their lowest, I saw the best in Lily and Lo.
