Incrível o de Turgenev. 5 capítulos de Jane Austen alla russa e no médio chega o surrogado do autor, fica tomar um café e falar um capítulo sobre política russa dos 1860 (basicamente "todos os meus compatriotas são estúpidos) de volta a dramote aristocrático. E que obsessão com os pescoços femininos (but I see you Ivan).

Um I think I missed the first 40 minutes of this book bc I was too hung up on the historical context intro. So I had wiki-ed the novel before starting and knew it was known to be controversial in Russia when published bc Turgenev was hating on every Russian opinion, and it’s basically satire on all of its society.
