National Public Radio. It's got a particular political slant to it; however, the classical music is wonderful. If you go to npr.org, you can read about it. Our local NPR station here in GA offers me the opportunity to hear classical music from other countries - Poland, Sweden, etc. For that alone, I give it a listen.

American public radio broadcasts (specific mix depends on particular station) mostly news (such as NPR), classical, jazz, and folk music.

NPR used to be my favorite radio station when I was living in the U.S. -- except for the local classic rock stations, the only one I spent considerable time listening to, in fact!

Great, in-depth programming on everything from news to literature, science, history and ... car repair! :)

For book geeks, the best show is "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross. She often has in-depth interviews with authors about newly released books.

Yes -- a fair share of the books I voted for on this list I actually became aware of on that show. And I still like to listen to it now, albeit only on the internet!

is there a way to automatically transfer all of these books onto my "want to read" list? :)
