The book chronicles his rise from a fun-loving family to Second City to the Daily Show with Jon Stewart, finally to Late Night with Stephen Colbert. A well-balanced read, and insight into the man. The narrator almost sounds like Colbert when imitating him. Recommended....more

I can't wait to see what he does with the current health crisis (this was written in 2010). My favorite chapter was "A Letter to a First-Time-Father-To-Be". The short short novel on vampires (Fangs of Endearment) is also good, as is every chapter in his book. Love the footnotes; just in case you haven't fallen off your chair reading that paragraph. I imagine the audio to be even more hilarious, but this was Print. And do you really want to be in the company of other people with earbuds in and then whatever you are drinking comes through your nose? Anyway, fun book....more

For readers wh0 are book addicts, who can't finish one book before starting another, who have more than one bookcase (or 3), for those who like cartoons and good illustrations (or comics). Most of this is 98% humor, but there is a bit more underneath speaking to writers and aspiring writers. The latter is the only pause I have in my praise. I mean those pages are equally good and creative and funny; however, does every book addict want to be a writer? Well, yeah, I do, but do all readers? Are the two inextricably linked? You can answer that, or just read this book to lighten the load and add some brightness to your day and remind your face what it is to smile and look happy....more

If you are a conservative in these troubled times, you do not want to read this book. If you are a liberal like me, you will fall off your chair laughing and then shake your head because you know it's all true. And this was before the Ukraine thingamagig. Well, what can you do but laugh when you want to cry?...more
