He is her best friend’s brSeven of Hearts is a small town, surprise pregnancy romance, which are 2 tropes I love! Leah has been into Logan for years. He is her best friend’s brother. They end up drunkenly hooking up and she gets pregnant. However, he finds out that she has been pining for him, and he asks her if her fantasy came true. It goes on from there where they go through their trauma about their families and stuff. They are low angst and they get their HEA.
I realized quickly that the writing was cringy and the characters felt a little flat. I found myself spacing out a lot. The narrators did a good job and the production quality was great. It was the characters and some of the wording that didn’t hit for me as I was hoping they would.

Modestly puts aside her feelings and marries the Duke to give Augustus the best life, not knowing Constantine’s full and arduous tale of woe. I really liked the romance and the dynamic between the hero and heroine. The conflict between the two made sense. I LOVE Shane East and Justine Eyre. Both did a fantastic job, but I could not keep a straight face while listening to the audiobook! Sometimes it’s the little things, that can disrupt a story. It wasn’t the writing as I could tell that she is a very capable writer. It was not the plot or the romance as both were well balanced and kept me engaged, and it wasn’t the phenomenal performance that Shane East and Justine Eyre did. It was the characters names! They kept pulling me out of the story. They were a little too on the nose for their vice/virtue for me. I would definitely listen to Mariah Stone’s work again, but I’m checking the character names first.
