Notes:
(1) Just like "Weird!" is Ron's catchphrase, "Honestly!" is Hermione's. She says it, for example, whenever Harry or Ron are entranced by veela. You'd think "the brightest witch of her age" would understand it's involuntary.
(2) In the books, Hermione's always scared, while Ron's brave in the face of danger. In the films, it's the other way around.

- Often a good "shut up" is the quickest remedy for hysteria.

(2) Now that Fleur likes Ron and pays him attention, I guess she's not hot no more. Not surprising. (see gif)

- Alternatively, perhaps Ron's shifted his attention elsewhere.

(2) Wonder if all the lip licking meant David Tennant needed ChapStick on standby?
(3) Karkaroff fled? Who's going to sail the ship back to Durmstrang? Magic, most likely.

It’s just a lot of unnecessary direction and dialogues for the characters.

I agree that Hermione should understand it’s involuntary. Ron seems pretty embarrassed once he snaps out of it, no need to add to it. I only watched the films once, and read the books multiple times. So it’s interesting to see you make these comparisons. They really slaughtered Ron’s character

Yeah, this audiobook experience has been interesting for me because it forces you to go through the books a lot slower than you otherwise would. The character disparity and changes made for the films between Ron and Hermione just jump out at you.
Also, perhaps it's a character trait that Hermione holds Harry and Ron to an unrealistic higher standard, or her standard. It reminds me of the first book in the "wingardium leviosa" scene, where she gets the spell right on the first try and expects Ron to be at her level. In other words, she can do it, why can't they. I can accept that for the most part as an explanation.
