A low angst hockey romance with a gay superstar and a case of hero worship that is actually a bi-awakening.
This book was four stars for me in the first half, but really lost my interest and I skimmed most of the second half. I was all for the instalove and the adorable professions of love between the two MCs, but it became a little repetitive and a bit too sugary sweet for me to want to stay invested.
I also think this book had too many pages dedicated to describing the hockey games. It worked in the middle, but it became repetitive just like the romance aspects. I like when something outside of the MCs is used to drum up suspense and tension, but this was just boring. It really seemed liked filler to make the book longer.
I loved these two MCs and really enjoyed them in the beginning and the end.

"Awwwww! This is too cute. 🥰
“Now, the question comes easier than I expected. ‘Can I buy you dinner?
His flush is back. His Adam’s apple rises and falls. The puck in his hands stills. ‘Yeah.’"

"The imagery in this scene…it’s like I’m there.
“Over to the windows, where he slides one hand through his hair and fists the other in front of his mouth. I see his reflection blink quickly before his eyes close."

Amazing review! I’m sorry this one didn’t work for either of us!
